Crusher Manganese FAQ’s

  • What grade of manganese should we use?

To select the optimal grade and profile for your crusher liner, we'll analyze factors like your equipment, operating conditions, current liner life, and the abrasiveness of the materials you process. Our standard recommendation is a high-quality 18% manganese content liner, which offers significant durability and performance benefits. For processing highly abrasive minerals, we suggest increasing the manganese content to 20% or even 22%.

  • What liner profile is right for our application?

The correct profile depends on the feed going into the crushing chamber. A well-graded feed is generally considered as:● 90-100% passing the closed-side feed opening. Some people look at 80% of the open side as well and select the smaller of the two.● 40-60% passing the midpoint.● 0-10% passing the closed-side setting. You want to match the entire feed gradation, not just the feed size, so that you utilize the entire chamber. It is important to utilize as much of the crushing chamber as possible to get the required reduction and desired throughput. Get in touch with our team and we can advise on the correct profile for your cone crusher liners.

  • When to change your cone crusher liners?

Although there is no perfect way to tell when the liners are worn out, here are two indications it is time to change the liners:1. When you see a 10% or more drop in production level or throughput, it is a good indication that your crusher liners need to be changed. 2. If the liner is wearing evenly throughout the chamber, you should consider changing it when it has worn down to about 1” (2.5 cm) thick at the bottom. At about 3/4” to 5/8” (1.9 cm to 1.6 cm) thick, the liner will crack, causing the backing material to begin to disintegrate.

  • How can we be sure about your casting quality?

Every batch of cast alloy is analyzed and certified to meet material specifications. We also offer comprehensive warranties on all our liners. Our liners are precision-cast and machined to exacting tolerances, ensuring superior quality and durability. This attention to detail results in crusher parts that have great performance and long wear life.

  • What makes and models does GRANITECH support?
